Well Hello!

I've wanted to write a blog for several years. So what stopped me? Mostly wondering what I could possibly add to the writing conversation. The internet is full of eloquent, thoughtful, lucid blog posts written by eloquent, thoughtful, lucid writers. These writers describe their ideas, their process, their successes and failures. Sometimes they're funny. Sometimes they're sad. Often they're angry. They link to valuable resources. They're all smarter than me. They have hundreds of followers. They link to Facebook and Twitter. The online world is their oyster. Nope. No point in me blogging then.

But here I am.

I'm shucking the proverbial oyster; prying the shells apart to reveal the juicy treasure inside. Oops. Overblown metaphor alert!

I'll begin this blogging adventure with notes and thoughts about the 2014 SCBWI summer conference. I met and listened to a fantastic array of authors and illustrators and my head is bursting with the things I learned from them. After that? Who knows where the trail will lead? I'm game. Why don't you tag along?
